Five-Minute Rule ( poker )
A house rule that a player must act on his hand within five minutes, or else
give up the hand and have no
claim on the pot. This rule is found mainly in no-limit games, and is usually
invoked on players who
frequently abuse the time limits, that is, when confronted with a large bet,
often study the situation for
long periods of time. The two-minute rule is similar, though not as common.
