Stranger ( poker )

 

1) In draw poker, a card one hasn't seen in one's hand after the draw, while shuffling through the entire hand. When a player is squeezing his hand, and finds one of the cards he drew, he may say, "There's a stranger." This quotation sometimes implies a card that improves the hand.

2) A player unknown to the regulars in a game.
